Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long in advance should I shop for my gown?

A: Styles do change from year to year, however since bridal gowns can take between 3 to 6 months to receive. You should begin your search 8-12 months before your wedding day. Looking through magazines & websites is a great way to get an early start.

Q: Do I need an appointment?

A: We encourage you to make an appointment so that we can provide a more personal service experience. However, we occasionally run behind during busy times. If this occurs, we'll do everything possible to make your wait a short one. TIP: If your schedule permits, make an appointment for a week day since we are less busy during those hours. We'll have more time to help you find everything you need for your dream wedding. Walk-in customers are always welcome.

Q: How many people can I bring to my appointment?

A: A word of the wise, inviting more than one or two people to your appointment is tempting trouble. More people generate more opinions, which may be conflicting. This often leaves the bride frustrated and no closer to making a final decision.

Q: What if the store doesn't have the gown I want in my size & colour?

A: Lindgren's Bridal carries hundreds of bridal gowns in sizes 2 to 28 in white and ivory. However, if your selection is not in your colour choice or size, ask your consultant whether your selection is available as a special order. If available, your prepaid special order can be received within 12 to 18 weeks of order confirmation.

Q: The stock gown I love is not my size, how will I know what size to order?

A: Lindgren's Bridal consultants will assist you in the proper measurement of your gown. Usually measurements include bust, waist, and hips, as well as a hollow to hem (length) measurement. Gowns range from sizes 2-30 or 2-20 or 16w-28w. Check with your consultant for details on gown sizes. Your measurements will be compared to the manufacturer's size chart to find which size will create the best fit for you.

Q: My plan is to lose weight before my wedding, should I purchase a smaller size gown than I presently wear?

A: This is never recommended. It is always easier to take in a gown that is too loose than let out a gown that doesn't fit.

Q: Do you provide alterations?

A: We have established relationships with bridal seamstresses who can provide our customers with quality alterations on a fee for services basis.

Q: If measurements are taken, why are alterations necessary?

A: Depending on your gown, it may be necessary to order the dress size that will accommodate the largest body measurements. Please remember, these gowns are not made to your measurements, so alterations will be necessary. The gown is adjusted to create the perfect fit for each individual. Alterations are a separate charge and never included in the cost of the gown.

Q: When should I order my bridesmaids dresses?

A: Lindgren's Bridal suggests ordering the gowns approximately 4-5 months before your wedding day. This gives enough time for the gowns to be received by the manufacturer and to be altered. Please be aware that bridesmaid dresses are often discontinued at little notice to the bridal salon, if you plan to shop early, be prepared to purchase early in order to avoid disappointment. Please note that weight loss, weight gain, pregnancy & illness can also be a factor in deciding when the gowns should be ordered.

Q: How will my out-of-town bridesmaids order their gowns?

A: Lindgren's Bridal recommends that the entire bridal party purchase should be made from one store to ensure consistent follow- up and dye lot control as dye lots can vary. Please note that Lindgren's Bridal prefers to measure each one of our customers personally, however, we understand that this is not always possible and we'll do all we can to ensure a proper fit. Please note, if you choose to be measured elsewhere, we must rely solely upon the measurements provided to us, and will not be held responsible for ill-fitting garments.

Q: Do you accept returns?

A: No refunds, returns, or cancelations are honored under any circumstances. All sales are final. This final sale policy is consistent with industry standard for bridal and special occasion apparel.

Q: After the wedding, what do you recommend for storing my gown?

A: Few things are as cherished as a wedding gown. With the careful planning that goes into selecting the perfect gown, many brides choose to heirloom their dress as a keepsake. A properly preserved gown preserves the dream of passing it down to a daughter or close family friend. Call Lindgren's Bridal for details.

Q: What if I have any other questions or concerns?

A: Please call us during our business hours and we would be happy to assist you.
